Far View Lodge - Located inside Mesa Verde National Park
The Far View Lodge offers the closest accommodations to the parks sites. Far View is located in the heart of the park, right next to the Far View Visitor Center. The lodge is perched up on a high ridge of Mesa Verde and has incredible views stretching to the neighboring states of New Mexico and Utah. The lodge is open from May to early November and offer rooms decorated in Southwestern decor with no TVs or phone - just panoramic vistas and peace and quiet. Pets are allowed in all standard rooms with additional payment and deposit.

The Southern Hotel was built in 1893 and has been continuously open as a hotel since its inception. Stay in the roomy Zane Gray suite where Gray is rumored to have penned "Riders of the Purple Sage." Wake up and walk downstairs for the included breakfast in the "Eating House." The Southern Restaurant serves home-cooked breakfast, lunch, and dinner at a very reasonable rate.

For those on a budget, the Anasazi Motor Inn in nearby Cortez is an excellent option. The Anasazi offers spacious southwestern styled rooms plus a swimming pool, hot tub, lounge featuring live music, and a restaurant proudly offering the largest cinnamon rolls in the county.
