Gays, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders (GLBT) have plenty to look forward to in Colorado's Mile-High City in 2007 with big events planned, including Memorial Day
Gays, lesbians and others in the GLBT community should head for Denver in 2007, with several major events planned, including three on Memorial Day weekend alone. Over the weekend of May 25-28, 2007, there's the International Gay Bowling Organization Annual Tournament, the International Association of Gay Square Dance Clubs Annual Convention and the North American Gay Volleyball Championships.
If you're not able to be there for a gay May weekend, then join the 200,000+ crowd that's expected for Colorado's biggest Gay Pride event, the Denver PrideFest. That takes place June 23-24 in 2007, and includes a parade, a music and dance stage, and family events too. They include a PrideFest Family Interactive Area and a Family Field Day on the Saturday, with a Famous Dogs in Drag Parade. Main focus of the activities is the Civic Center Park, and there are more details on the Denver PrideFest website.
If you don't make it to Denver, make it a gay Golden in July. Golden's Jefferson County Fairgrounds host the 25th annual Colorado Gay Rodeo, from July 13-15. There are all the traditional rodeo events and some not-so-traditional ones. How about Goat Dressing and the Wild Drag Race. They're looking for entertainers, too, so all the comediands, singers, dancers and drag queens out there can find out more by clicking on the official website here. Yee-haw!
